RPG Meister is designed to work without accounts, logins, tracking, or cloud storage of your game data. We deliberately keep things simple: you can play without handing over personal information.

No account or login

You do not need to create an account or provide personal information to use RPG Meister.

There is no user profile, no password, and no login system.

Your characters and campaigns stay on your device

Your characters, campaigns, parties, NPCs and other game data are stored locally on your device, in the browser storage used by the RPG Meister app.

RPG Meister does not maintain a cloud database containing your game data.

This also means that your data is tied to the browser and device where you created it. If you clear your browser data, uninstall the app, or otherwise remove its local storage, your game data can be lost. We therefore recommend using the built-in export and backup facilities when appropriate.

Sharing game data

RPG Meister provides an exchange service to make it easy to transfer game data between players and Game Masters.

The exchange service is designed as a pass-through, not as cloud storage.

The receiving device starts an exchange session. The sending device can then send the selected data through that session directly to the receiver. The exchange service does not store the game data that passes through it.

Once the transfer is complete, the game data is not retained on the exchange service.

Exchange service protection

To prevent the exchange service from being abused, we limit the number of exchange sessions that can be requested.

We allow a maximum of 10 exchange session creates per hour from an IP address. To enforce this limit, RPG Meister creates a salted SHA-256 hash of the requesting IP address. Rate-limit records are retained for the rolling hour; request-audit logs also retain the hash.

The IP address itself is not retained for this purpose.

No tracking cookies

RPG Meister does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or similar technologies to follow you around the web.

We do not build user profiles or track which pages individual visitors have viewed.

We do maintain a simple page-hit counter so that we can see how much the website is being used. This provides aggregate usage numbers rather than a history of individual visitors.

No advertising or selling of personal data

RPG Meister does not use your game data for advertising and does not sell personal information to advertisers or other third parties.

There is no advertising profile associated with your use of RPG Meister.
